How can I write about the roses and the lilies,
when my country is suffering?
How can I write about the raindrops and the wind,
when my country is bleeding?
How can I write about pleasure and solace,
when the nation I live in, is going through mass unrest?
How can I write of peace and harmony,
when my country is facing tyranny?
How can I write what I am unable to feel?
How can I not write about all that I feel?
How can I witness it all,
be quiet about it and not raise a voice?
How can I write about my country’s pride,
when the leaders in power have so much to hide?
